Ann Mitchell is a Haudenasaunee basket maker from Akwesasne Mohawk Territory who specializes in crafting colorful black ash and sweetgrass baskets. She grew up watching her family members weaving baskets and she was taught how to make baskets by her mother when she was a child but didn't continue making baskets until 2011. From there she focused on fine tuning her skills and experimenting with different techniques and colors. She's able to create vibrant baskets, hats, vases, flowers, accessories and more. In March 2015 she started a facebook page to showcase her items and Dream Weaver Basketry was born.
